The Elements of Typographic Style
Robert Bringhurst
Any typography expert should chase this guide down like the Higgs Boson. Although it is not easy to find, this will make you think, no matter how advanced you believe you are.
This collection of advice is an essential tool to achieve that special, hard-to-pin-down typographic style that we all admire. Instruction ranges from the meta (ie page layout) to the micro (ie kerning between two specific glyphs).
There is an obsession in this book that shames most designers and at the same time also make you feel more normal. Addicted to type? Get inspired!
Once you open this book you will never look at a font in the same way. If you are a designer this is even more true. Get it, share it, use it and love it. Â
